The 14th-century martial science of Johannes Liechtenauer

We reconstruct historical fencing through peer-reviewed manuscript research, treating every verse, wind, and guard as a rigorous system of biomechanical reality.

Archival Foundation

Primary reliance on manuscript glosses

Our curriculum derives directly from the foundational verses of Johannes Liechtenauer and subsequent 15th-century glosses by Ringeck, Danzig, and Lew. We interrogate unarmored longsword, messer, dagger, and historical wrestling with steel in hand.

By testing historical theory against the reality of disciplined sparring, we ensure that scholarly research translates directly into functional, high-pressure martial competence.
